The following information was provided by Fort Wilderness at check in:

Safety Precautions for Carts and other recreational activities

All Florida rules of the road apply while operating carts and bikes on Fort Wilderness property.

Cart drivers must be at least 16 years of age and hold a valid driver's license. The license mist remain with the driver at all times while operating the cart. Driver's learner permits are not acceptable.

Passengers in carts mist stay seated at all times; children may not assist in driving the cart at any time.  Nor, may passengers sit in the bed of any utility type cart, they must be in a seat.

Carts must stay behind the gates of Fort Wilderness. Carts are not permitted in the motor vehicle parking lots at the front desk/check in and kennel locations or at Disney's Wilderness lodge resort.  Carts should only be parked in designated cart parking areas.

Carts must remain on roadways and paved paths marked appropriate for cart traffic at all times while in operation.  Carts cannot be operated on sidewalks, grassy areas, the beach, in the woods, or restricted zones (posted).

Large vehicles have "right of way". Carts must yield to larger vehicles.  Keep to the right on roadways to allow larger vehicles to pass.

Walt Disney World  Bus Transportation and all vehicles including carts must adhere to "School Bus" policy; all traffic must come to a full and complete stop (Including oncoming traffic) until all passengers boarding and disembarking the bus are clear.

Please operate the cart in a responsible manner.  You may be responsible for damages caused buy the cart.

Consumption of alcohol products is not permitted while the cart is in operation, nor may guest operate a cart while under the influence of alcohol, chemical substance or a controlled substances. 

Florida State Law requires that all bike riders under the age if 16 wear a bike helmet.

Make sure when you are driving or riding a bike, scooter, etc. at night that you have your headlights on so other vehicles can see you.

Privileges may be revoked for those who are not abiding by the above rules which could include eviction.
